OUR MISSION
We equip the modern adventurer with soulful, rugged, and responsibly made outdoor gear. Future expedition opportunities provide our clients with soulful adventures the way life was meant to be lived.
Our Brand Story
At Vagabond Expeditions, we envision a world where every trail, summit, river, and shoreline is an invitation to reconnect—with nature, with community, and with ourselves. Our mission begins by equipping the wayward and restless adventurer with soulful, rugged, and responsibly made outdoor gear—and evolves into leading transformative expeditions that awaken the spirit of exploration. Rooted in grit, guided by purpose, and driven by a love for wild places, Vagabond Expeditions seeks to cultivate a global movement of explorers who live deliberately, tread lightly, and get dirty in pursuit of wonder.
OUR FOUNDER
Brian Facemire is the Founder, CEO, and Expedition Lead of Vagabond Expeditions, and a PhD candidate in Classical Archaeology. Vagabond Ex was founded as an expedition-driven apparel and storytelling brand built on the principle that gear should be tested where it is actually used—far from roads, in real environments, under real strain.
A veteran educator and field researcher, Brian brings nearly two decades of experience in history, archaeology, and experiential outdoor education to this endeavor. His work bridges the academic and the physical, combining disciplined research with long-distance travel across remote landscapes. He has led expeditions and educational programs on five continents with a focus on cultural understanding, historical inquiry, scientific observation and finding yourself in the cathedral’s of nature that the universe provides
As Expedition Lead, Brian designs and undertakes journeys that serve both as research platforms and proving grounds—testing equipment, documenting environments, and exploring the deeper narratives that connect people, history, and terrain. His current work includes long-form expedition projects and ongoing research into the material culture of the ancient Mediterranean.
